Everything about the new CD from Carmen Lundy comes directly from the heart. Renowned for her extraordinary vocal prowess and songwriting skill, Lundy moves far beyond our expectations, arranging, producing, recording, mixing and playing every instrument on Solamente.

Originally recorded to serve as reference demos of new compositions, the recordings so moved listeners that Lundy was persuaded to release them as they were, with every second, every note a reflection of an artist at her creative peak.

The warm analog recording, pure tones and sublime melodies experienced throughout Solamente provide a sense of intimacy rarely heard in this digital era. Mix in Lundy's willingness to bare herself as a writer and performer and you have a listening experience quite unlike anything heard in years

While Lundy has managed the near impossible by maintaining a three decade career with mostly self penned material, this 11th CD release is a unique departure from her previous work.

Mike Joyce of The Washington Post in a recent review of Lundy's performance at the Mary Lou Williams Women in Jazz Festival at the Kennedy Center said "Vocalist Carmen Lundy, in terrific voice, followed with a delightful preview of her forthcoming CD, "Solamente." The self-penned tunes -- by turns spirited, romantic and poetic -- were colorfully reconfigured by a seasoned quartet featuring pianist Bill O'Connell, bassist Kenny Davis, drummer Steve Williams and percussionist Mayra Casales."

		Come Home Carmen Lundy’s 10th CD release features 11 new and original songs and a standout arrangement of “Nature Boy”. Her rock solid core band of stellar musicians features Anthony Wonsey on piano, Curtis Lundy on bass, Jason Evan Brown on drums, Mayra Casales on percussion and Lage Lund on guitar, plus very special guests Geri Allen on piano and keyboards, Steve Turre on trombone and conch shells, Lori Andrews on harp, Machan lending support vocals and a kid’s choir on a new studio version of “Afrasia!”
